Day #14 - Leaving on a Jet Plane

Thursday Chip boarded a plane in Roanoke, VA to return home and back to work. For two weeks Chip's support was instrumental to the success of this venture.  It meant so much to Kevin to have one of his oldest friends there with him as he embarked on his journey.  Chip, thank you for everything!  You are missed already!
The plan for the day was to take it easy and go 50 miles.  Two weeks straight on the road has taken it's toll on muscles and joints.  This has only been exacerbated by the mountainous terrain of the previous few days and Thursday was no different.
Without a cloud in the sky, the day was beautifully sunny and warmed up to 75 degrees. Along the way they passed houses decked out for Halloween, a stray cow, Virginia Tech, and more breathtaking landscapes.
Despite the 50 mile goal for the day, Kevin and Emi ended up riding for 60 miles, starting in Christiansburg and ending in Wytheville, VA.
In Wytheville they visited the Community Recreation Center where they enjoyed a swim in the pool and a soak in the hot tub.  Sad start, exhausting ride, refreshing end.
Proof of a beautiful day?  Helmet tans!
