Kevin once again woke up to the pidder-padder of raindrops hitting the RV on Saturday morning. 45 degrees and windy conditions called for serious rain gear and layers. Suited up for the day, they inspected the maps before heading out.
Unfortunately, the maps didn't really help when, just 2 miles into the ride after an uphill climb, a major road block was hit. BRIDGE OUT! Construction workers told Kevin they would have to take a detour! After explaining about the cross-country ride for the Wounded Warrior Project the workers showed them the way down to the river where they could hike across. So after hiking down an embankment and forging a river all while carrying their bikes, they we back on track.
In Fredericksburg, VA they rolled through the downtown Gone To The Dogs fair!
At the end of the day on Saturday, Kevin traveled from Lorton, VA to Guinea, VA where they stayed in a KOA Kampground. A total of 71 miles!
