Day #28 - One Month In!

Thursday 10/20/11 marked a milestone - one month of solid riding without a single day off! I'm tired just typing that.  Good thing today is Friday, I need the weekend to recover...
Yesterday was BETTER!  A milder day with manageable winds and relatively flat roads. Thank goodness!  A planned "easy" day - 61 miles from Mamou to DeRidder, LA.
In DeRidder, Kevin went to visit an old friend of his brother Danny - James Charles Daffin and his wife, Katie.  Jim served in the Air Force with Danny.  You will all remember that Danny is the inspiration for Kevin's ride for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Jim and Katie welcomed Kevin, Jim and Jeff into their home for a truly delicious Southern dinner of fried catfish.  While they were there Katie got her bike out - maybe she'll join the ride?
Check out this beautiful, deluxe outhouse - Katie does most of the woodworking herself! Hmmm... perhaps Kevin Harrington Plumbing & Heating should market these in the Hamptons? Of course we'd probably have to outfit them with computerize toilets with warming seats, spraying water and dryers that will also regulate the air conditioning, cook dinner and fold the laundry!
Sounds like they had the perfect night enjoying delicious food and the company of great people!  Thank you Jim and Katie for your hospitality!!!
On Friday Kevin and Emi will leave Louisiana and enter the Lone Star State, Texas!
YEE HAW!

I definitely need one of those outhouses on Edge of Woods! The Wrights and Reillys will be so jealous!

Stay strong and have fun,
