The up-side, no one was hurt, a tire was changed, new chain located, pretty ride alongside Lake Guntersville, 67.5 more miles down. You decide - bad luck or good luck? I'm going with good...
After leaving Scottsboro they pedaled through the rain (seems the skies are not so blue in sweet home Alabama) and spent the night at Werner's Trading Co. in Cullman, AL, where Emi's bike was outfitted with a new chain.
Thursday Kevin will near the Mississippi border, maybe even cross it!
