Day #21 - Pork & Beans

Yes, pork & beans - GODDA LOVE that one!  How about, eat here and get gas?  Don't worry, this was a passing sign, no beans were consumed - Kevin was afraid!
Thursday Kevin and Emi headed West from Cullman to Hamilton, AL, all on Route 278.  The traveling conditions were less than ideal with strong head winds, more rain and some steep climbs (the terrain map gives an indication what they were up against) but by the end of the day the sun came out and the winds started dying down and 76 miles rolled by.
In Natural Bridge, AL they saw a sign for "the longest rock arch east of the Rockies" and decided to take a short break to check it out.
The first picture is the Natural Bridge and the second is a rock called Indian Head.  Great decision to take some time away from the road to check out Mother Nature's handiwork!  It's always good to stop and smell the roses.  Don't let life pass you by...
The day ended at the Community Center in Hamilton with a crisp blue sky poking through the clouds and a good stretch.  On to Tupelo, MS on Friday - the birthplace of Elvis!

After we had football practice that day. Several of the kids wanted to know what WWP was and I was a very proud parent because my sons expained to them what WWP was for. I have been apart of the military family with my dad being a Vietnam vet and my exhusband serving our country now. Thank you for what you are doing. And prayers for a safe journey.
